ALL DVD previews are back!
A month or so ago I decided to remove all the old “legacy” DVD picture preview galleries from the site.
The really ugly ones that open in a new window that is 100+ thumbnails on one page.
I was convinced these were so severely outdated and not useful for the site and customers. WRONG!
The issue is that they were made back in the day when mobile browsing on a cell phone wasn’t a thing or as common.
Back from 2002 to around 2020 or so I often used a program called “Arles image gallery creator”. This would take 100 screenshots I made and make an html gallery from them. Unfortunately many of them made a single HTML file for EVERY image! Not good!
I think these galleries are severely bloated and not optimal in 2026, but still very useful! Not mobile friendly at all.
At some point (around 2020 or so) I switched to making single image video preview sheets. These are far better long term.
Would you believe that from 2002 to 2015 or so I took nearly all my DVD screenshots manually?
Yes, I actually watched most of the movies, fast forwarded through them and picked out each one.
With up to 1000 DVDs added per month, this became impossible.
So today and yesterday I added back all the following:
- All “legacy” picture galleries. These have a link in product pages for older titles. Most of these were added before 2022.
- Missing JPG previews shown on product pages are back. If it has one, it will be shown.
When I started this site back in 2002 I had no way to take screenshots at all. Everything I sold was VHS and I never had a video capture device.
A year or so later when I switched to the DVD format I took screenshots for nearly every DVD we sold!
I think our site became such a success back then because screenshots and info about the DVDs we sold was extremely hard to find online! We were also one of the first sites selling Japanese Bukkake movies in the USA.
I remember hearing some rumor about Howard Stern mentioning bukkake on one of this shows and suddenly it all got very popular in the USA. Not likely that played a role, but you never know!
If your curious, there is little to no demand for bukkake or gokkun DVDs right now in the USA. I don’t know why. Maybe some people just don’t know such a thing exists? Maybe it’s too extreme for most? Back in the day our site only sold bukkake videos! Hard to believe. Back then we never called them gokkun titles. Everything was bukkake.
In Japan in the past year they’ve had quite a few new titles in the genre and we carry them. Mostly facial themed titles.
Today I also upgraded the server that hosts this website (remotely).
We’re now on 4 fully dedicated CPU cores with lots of ram and an NVME drive. Most people won’t notice many changes when browsing.
I also sometimes experiment with new changes on the site and I need to stop doing this. Nobody likes mega menus and I removed it..again.
I wanted to avoid clutter, but that wasn’t the way to go.
Today i’m planning for another small update. Maybe 60-80 new DVDs.
I add as many new titles as I possibly can. Nearly all of them are recent releases in Japan.
If you don’t see enough DVDs being added to your favorite genre, it’s probably because there is not enough of them being released that month in Japan.
Sadly, there is way way way too few lesbian movies being released in Japan. I don’t know why this is.
The biggest studios for them seems to be Bibian (BBAN-) and U&K (AUKG-).
They also used to have TONS of K-tribe and Minimum-AV like movies with the AV idols like Rina Hatsume or Rara Kudou, but not so much any more. Those are titles with women who have a petite/slender/slim body type. The covers often list their height in centimeters. The shortest AV idol I think seems to be Yuzuka Moyoshi off the top of my head. Yuzuka’s Moyoshi’s SDAB-273 is our #3 best seller! The link to that one has a video preview clip you can watch.
Minimum-AV created the amazing MUM- series (MUM-123 and MUM-155 are 10/10 titles IMO) and supposedly went out of business. K-Tribe is still around but tends to release too many compilations of older titles. I always loved the DVD cover artwork for those K-Tribe titles! I wish they had one with Kana Yura in it with her on the cover, just like before. Rina Hatsume is probably my #1 all time favorite AV idol, but Kana is in the top 10 for sure. These days most of my favorites are in the mature woman category or are big bust gravure idols. If you like big bust gravure idols, Sachiko Aizawa’s titles are incredible! They’re in my personal collection and I don’t sell them. Due to being non-nude and not sexually explicit, they would not sell at all on my site. I hope she releases more DVDs, but probably retired. Strangely enough, big boob content was never on my radar until 2025 when I discovered Yulia Nova’s photo books and videos and how great big bust gravure idol DVDs were. How do I sell Japanese Porn DVDs for 20+ years and never know about gravure idol DVDs until 2025? It seems impossible to believe!
