Tips for using our shopping cart

TL;DR Edition:

  1. Create an account and it will save your cart contents for later when you logoff.
  2. If you logged off with items in your cart, they will be gone until you login again (it saved them).
  3. Shopping as a guest (no account) will clear your cart when the browser window is closed (usually).

Extended Tips on how to shop:

To make your shopping experience as easy as possible, we suggest creating an account.

We don’t do this to send you junk mail. We have no mailing list.

This allows you to shop and save your cart contents for later.

It’s good for those who can’t browse hundreds of titles right away.

Here is an example of the shopping process:

A) Browse the site while logged off and add lots of DVDs to the cart.

B) When you login, those items will still be in your cart.

C) If you were previously shopping while logged in, anything added to your cart will still be there.

D) When you logoff, your cart contents (in the logged off state) will be empty. This is perfectly normal. It has saved the contents for later!

E) To get them back, just login again. It has saved them.

F) An account will also let you see what you previously purchased. No more accidentally ordering something you already have.

It’s perfectly OK to shop while logged off and as a guest.

There are some disadvantages to this, such as:

A) When you close your browser, the cart contents are usually gone in most cases. Some browsers may save them for a very limited time.

B) If making a big order, you have to shop for everything in one session. An account solves that problem.
