OK. First off, the site is not going anywhere! We are not closing and no chance of that happening.
Sales in March and April have been at an all time low. Not just low, but basically DEAD! It’s now getting to the point where I can barely keep the site running without taking a part time job. I’m at the point now where if sales don’t recover by the end of this week then I will need to take a part time job. This 1000% means that the prices of each DVD will have to go up to $7 or even $8. I just won’t have time anywhere to handle huge bulk orders. Even then I might need to limit order quantity. With that price, I expect the site to turn into more of a hobby. Since 2002 it’s been my primary full time job.
Often we’ve had a slow-down in sales. It could be due to the economy, some weird technical issues or poor traffic from search engines. We focused hard on doing updates and that always seemed to work. This time, it hasn’t. At this point i’ve been brainstorming ideas as to what’s going on and have come up with nothing. I don’t think it’s due to the decreased interest in physical media at all. Why? Sales were great in February! It was one of our best months in years!
There is one rule you may need to know about running this site. Even when we are currently processing orders, we still need to do constant updates. That’s how it’s worked since the start. The site has always done it’s best when selling in bulk with a constant flow of new updates.
I don’t expect much from running this site. As long as I can pay the bills, i’m happy. I just want to continue to constantly add new JAV DVDs for everyone each month. I love this job and do appreciate each and every order. I am so thankful for all the loyal customers. I haven’t forgotten about you.
I’m doing everything I can to fix this problem. In late March and early April I added a record number of high quality titles. Nearly all of them are recent releases in Japan.
PS if you have an open order, it’s in process and will be going out ASAP.
I am ready now to do some marathon order processing sessions.

BTW if you’re a computer/technical person like me, here’s some things i’ve done to help speed up the site for everyone:
- Added server side caching (always had this, but this one is better)
- Added Object cache
- Got Google Pagespeed to the highest it’s ever been (99 last I checked for desktop).
- TTFB worldwide should be the lowest it’s ever been.
