Today I improved the shopping cart. It will now display your cart total in a dollar amount.

One useful tip I suggest is to add a single DVD to the cart. Then immediately add the coupon code of “40”.

The cart icon will then show the cart total at the discounted rate. Pretty neat.

You can now add coupon codes directly in the cart window.

I also added another 110 DVDs to the site.

This is in addition to the other DVDs added on the 25th.

I also decided to try to make the main menu a little less cluttered. The main categories are now listed on a drop down menu like on our old site.

I don’t know why I didn’t do this years ago!

From now on i’ll also make it easier for you to see what new DVDs i’ve added by the exact DAY. Not just which ones I added each month.

I used to call them Round 2, Round 3 etc. I’ll do that again. The latest update is now Round 10.

I didn’t realize the June updates page is 40+ pages! Not everyone has time to view them all in one day.

I will also try to add a wish list option in the future.

Here is one other tip:

You can add lots of items to your cart and then logoff. All those items will be saved for later!

You can also browse while logged off and add items to the cart.

When you login those items will be added to your “logged in” cart.

 

I noticed that the checkout page was totally missing the coupon code box!! Oops.

That may have prevented quite a few people from ordering. Sorry about that!

You were still able to enter it on the cart page, but some people go directly to checkout.

The site should now be running super fast.

I’ve got full page caching going that should not interfere with the add to cart or checkout functions.

I got my first ever Google pagespeed score of 100/100 for mobile for the site using a new plugin I bought for it.

It’s really hard to get that score, especially on the software we use.

 

I’ve found yet another great way of getting my physical collection organized (that we use for the site).

I’m pretty excited about implementing it.

I’ve had other good ideas in the past, but not as good as this one.

I’m confident this will make finding discs for orders super fast.

It uses a local spreadsheet database system.

Strangely enough, I got the idea from an AI chat-bot.

In the past 5 years, the biggest time sink in processing orders has been to actually FIND the discs.

As you may know, we have over 25K discs. When we had less than 10K discs it was no problem at all finding them.

This problem may be finally solved once and for all. I’m pretty happy about that. I think it’s going to work out perfectly.

I’ve also been doing constant updates for June. Would you believe we’re on Round 9 of the June updates?

One small change you might have noticed.

The default product sort option is now “Sort by Best Sellers”.

We are doing this as a test to see how it goes. Just click whatever option you want. It’s not gone!

One fun option is to try out “Random”. You might discover some pretty good DVDs you might have previously overlooked.

I’m also going to do a better job of adding more product information to future new additions.

Things such as full title name, release data, studio, running length etc.

I honestly don’t like to add the full title names. They’re sometimes an entire paragraph long and make very little sense.

Some of them are quite funny though!

One thing i’d also like to point out. If there is not enough titles added per month to your favorite genre, it’s most likely just that Japan hasn’t released that many that month.

One thing that is a bit disappointing is that there are so few Lesbian videos produced in Japan now. I’m seeing less than a dozen per month easily I think. I don’t know why. I personally love them and always have. Would you believe our #1 best seller of all time is a lesbian video? It has the older and younger (18+) theme that so many love. It’s starring Maki Housyou and my favorite Rina Hatsume. It’s LADY-098. I find the movie super hot. The last scene is especially great. My #1 favorite JAV actress is probably Rina Hatsume. Last year I also loved Mako Oda & Ayano Katou videos (both mature category actresses).

I know a lot of you are here just for the Lesbian videos. If it wasn’t for that genre our site would be way less successful.

I don’t focus specifically on any single genre. I add whatever is new that looks good. Even ones that don’t look good to ME i’ll still add. Just to see if there is any interest.

In the past few months i’ve also added a lot of new categories/genres. Even trying to make some for professions like Nurse, News Reporter, Stewardess etc. One I personally love is the Cosplay Bunny Girl theme.

One genre I love that isn’t too popular is the Mature Woman genre. I may add less of these DVDs in the future. Maybe just be more selective.

One type of movie i’d absolutely love to sell is non-nude big bust gravure movies! They would probably sell zero copies though. I personally love non-nude content.

They are one of the hardest types of videos to find outside Japan! If you’ve got a favorite gravure model, you’d have to buy many of their DVDs directly from Japan.

Reminds me the days of when I first experienced a bukkake VHS tape. Most of those were 60 minutes only and cost $100USD. No, that’s no joke! M’s Video Group (MVG) also sold their video tapes at that price. I bet some of my customers now have never used VHS tapes before. I think the site became a huge success when we finally switched to the DVD format.

I believe this was around 2004 or 2005? It’s hard to remember!

I myself am a big fan of physical media. I think it’s here to stay and will never go away. When I buy something, I want to feel like I own it! It makes me a little annoyed when so many great TV shows are made, but no blu-ray or even DVD version is available. One example is a show called The Foundation, which is super great IMO. One thing i’ve been doing as a precaution is buying lots of my favorite TV shows on physical media if at all possible. That way if it’s deleted on a streaming service, I can still watch it. I just did this with HBO’s Station Eleven (which is amazing IMO).

Nearly every single one just came out in Japan just recently. So many look pretty amazing to me, especially the big bust DVDs.

As you may know, May 2025 was a nightmare month for the site in terms of sales  (down 75% at least!). We really need this update to be a huge success.

If you are thinking about placing an order please, please consider doing it soon if at all possible. It would really help us out and keep the site going long term. The end of the month is always the hardest for our site.

I think the shopping cart issue was happening for longer than I originally thought. That’s my idea. Now it’s fixed and working great.

It looks a little bit different now, but is basically the same.

BTW  I need to watch more of what I sell! I was thinking of getting back to reviewing maybe 5 or so movies per week when i’m not working.

One type of movie I absolutely love so much right now is gravure big bust movies. They’re non-nude and no topless scenes at all. They usually feature swimsuits, nice costumes and lingerie. They’re so hard to find and usually are never listed on adult sites due to usually not even being sexual in nature. If you’ve never seen them, check into Rui Kiriyama. She has dozens of DVDs and even some blu-rays. I don’t sell any because they wouldn’t sell well here I think. I was completely unaware of the greatness of this genre until 2025! I actually even prefer the Non nude ones. I love the beach scenes with the swimsuits etc.

They were actually put on my radar when I realized I really liked Yulia Nova. She was a Russian model who was very popular in Japan who had a lot of Japanese photo books and DVDs released.  They’re so old, but still going for hundreds of dollars on Ebay!

My current favorite gravure model is Sachiko Aizawa. She doesn’t have a lot of DVD releases, but below is the cover of her latest one I think. I guess she is an I-cup model!

If you want to buy any of them you’d just have to write down the catalog numbers and search for them or just copy and paste them into the search box.

This gallery makes it easy to see the large images without clicking each one.

Desktop PC users can also download a zip archive of full covers (right click and “Save Link As”). It allows you to view them all offline with your own picture viewer more quickly. I wouldn’t suggest it if you’re not familiar with zip files or extracting them. Some people find it easier to find what they’re looking for with these zip files.

I also put back online the OLD SITE. It was up last week for awhile, but I had to temporarily remove it.

Why don’t I just let it die already? Well, it’s still too useful I think! There is a TON of information there for collectors. Plus way more full length reviews, actress names and picture previews for DVDs added from 2002 until November of 2023.

I will add all that information to our current site, but to be honest it would take months of work.

 

Today I finally finished the latest update! It’s probably the best one we’ve done in quite a long time.

Over 150 JAV DVDs were added to the site. Most of them were just released in Japan a few days ago.

Some of them I just can’t wait to watch and will maybe check them out later.

I think this update has some of the best variety compared to other ones.

I really really need this update to be a HUGE success. Not going to lie, but this month has been the most challenging one all year by far.  This is really bizarre considering March 2025 was one of our best months in maybe 5 years! Everything on the site is the same, so I don’t know what happened.

I think a lot of the issues were caused by our old server slowing down when it shouldn’t have. We are back to the high quality and reliable type of server we used in the past few years. No experiments to try to fix things that aren’t broken!

I try to make this site as easy to use as possible. IMO it’s a big improvement over our old & uglier site. As long as I keep doing high quality updates for everyone, things will be fine.

Right now I think many out there in the USA have switched to buying less things that are not absolutely essential. It’s just a guess. My expenses have gone up a little, but I will stick it out and not increase prices at all for awhile. That’s the last thing I want to do when sales are down!

I upgraded the website server to an even faster one!

One more CPU core and double the memory.

For the past week I’ve noticed the site running very slow at random. My console would randomly report the CPU usage at 80-100% despite having little traffic. I spent a few hours troubleshooting that without any solutions until today.

It turns out it was some Cloudflare security feature. I have no idea how it could have caused this. Once I disabled that the server was back to normal. Why? I have no idea.

I’m not 100% sure this was the cause, but I also disabled some theme features which may have helped.

Now we are back to running super fast at less than 20% CPU usage.

I did a Google pagespeed test and just got this super great score below.

That’s with full page caching. With that our TTFB (Time to First Byte) is down to 60-70ms!

If any of you tried to order in the past week and had issues or timouts, this problem could be why.

It’s possible some of our security features accidentally blocked a few people (not likely though).

The cart is fixed! It was down all of Tuesday the 12th due to a mistake on my part! Oops! I’m so glad I checked the site before going to bed! You could add items to the cart and they would not appear in the cart AT ALL!

I was making some slight changes to the web server. Installed a new control panel  and activated Varnish cache. Apparently it breaks the shopping cart! I deactivated that and now everything is fine.

I’m now using a fully dedicated CPU on our VPS instead of a shared one. I barely used 10% on the shared CPU and it’s not likely I needed to upgrade it, but it doesn’t hurt. 22K products in a database sure does eat up a lot of RAM!

If you could believe it, our first web server back in the early days was a fully dedicated server with only a 2ghz Celeron CPU with 80gb of merchanical hard drive space and 512mb of RAM!! They definitely overcharged us for it. I was also paying like $30/month for years for the Plesk control panel. I no longer use it, but the cheapest edition is worth every penny. It’s down to $13 I think.

The site now is faster than ever! I remember the days on my old web server and even with HTML and CSS only we could barely get under a TTFB (Time to first byte) of 190ms. Now it’s often down to 60ms!! We use Nginx and a pretty great caching software called Flying Press. It even works without messing with the shopping cart function. That’s not a common feature it seems like.

You know what’s super annoying these days when managing your own web server for a site? A massive ton of AI BOTS! I block them all! I never realize how much of a problem they are until recently. They supposedly do “training” on every site they visit.

Every single one of them probably came out in the past week in Japan. Some are so new you can barely find DVD covers for them online!

In February alone i’ve added 239 DVDs already and it’s only the 6th! We also probably hit a record number of new JAV DVDs added in January! And it most definitely wasn’t quantity over quality!

Tough month as usual, but i’m working so hard. Every single day I focus only on the site and processing orders. It’s a real challenge to run this site some months. This is definitely one of them. I hope I can make it through the month without taking a part time job. Working for this site is a full time job and then some!

To help encourage customers to order, i’m trying something new. I’ve reduced the shipping price slightly as a test.

I also upgraded the web server to be even faster. Upgraded it from 4GB of ram to 8GB. Two core CPU to 3. Will it make a difference? Possibly not, but that’s OK! It doesn’t hurt. We barely use more than 10% CPU as it is.

I also removed all page caching. That could have caused some issues with people ordering. It’s unlikely, but possible. My old caching software (Flying Press) was supposedly working ok with my E-commerce software.

I also found out a bizzare configuration error with the site. My WordPress install was set to use a maximum of 2048MB of ram, when it was supposed to be set at the default of like 256MB! I doubt it caused any issues, but it’s possible.

Today I added back about 12,000 JAV DVDs!

I should have listened to something that’s ALWAYS worked well for the site since 2002…”If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”.

Yes, that and “Keep it simple, stupid” have always worked well for me when running this site!

So anyway, long story short. Earlier last year I thought offering less DVDs would somehow allow me to ship orders faster. I would have less DVDs to search through. This sounds like a good idea, BUT….I did not plan for the long term effects of losing so many products.

For example, loss of Google and other search engine traffic. Plus, many customers do like older DVDs that may now be super rare and hard to find.

The DVDs I had removed were ONLY titles that haven’t sold even ONCE in a full year. It’s not likely many would have bought them.

My sales have tanked a lot recently and this could be why. I am actively working to improve everything. I’m kind of in panic mode.

I’m hoping that by bringing these all back it will boost sales a little and help me to continue to run the site for at least another 6 months to a year.

Things are extremely tough right now. I know it may be hard to believe, but physical media just doesn’t sell as well as it has in the past.

I am still a huge believer in physical media for video games, music and movies. Sometimes I like digital products, but for more expensive items I NEED a physical DISC! I don’t think I could ever get a video game console without physical media support.

This site has been running non-stop for nearly 23 years. I want to keep it going for as long as I can! Hopefully this helps.

Sometimes I forget what made this site such a success. I think back in the day it was all my products reviews, plus screenshots. I had useful info for rare bukkake DVDs that nobody could find elsewhere.

I now need to almost consider this site as like an archive for very old JAV movies. Some titles i’ve offered that were removed were probably not found anywhere else on the internet due to rarity!

I also would like to bring back the old bloated HTML picture galleries for bukkake videos. I have 30-50gb of them and they are not mobile friendly and quite ugly. I think it will be worth it. I think it’s better than no preview at all! It’s nearly impossible to convert them to a more modern format. I’ll try though.

If you are considering an order, please place one ASAP if at all possible. It would really help us out. Large or small is very helpful! Every order helps.

If you get a few minutes, please also check on all those old DVDs I added back. They’re kind of mixed in unfortunately and there was no good way to specify which ones were added back. They were previously set to “private” or “hidden” on the site.

The Lesbian area definitely got a massive ton more DVDs! That’s our #1 most popular area these days. I just wish they had more new releases in Japan for that genre every month. They are rarely produced anymore. Maybe less than 10-20 per month, if that.

I still can’t believe it’s been nearly 23 years already since I started this site! What has kept us going is all the loyal and repeat customers. Without you we never would have survived. I still remember the days when I was processing my orders using yellow invoice sheets. Writing down all the VHS tapes I need to process for each order. Yes, I used to sell only VHS video tapes once! I don’t think we started selling DVDs until 2004.
