Today I added the following new digital downloads to the site:

Guess what the #1 Best Seller of 2024 was? It is the masterpiece LADY-098 with Rina Hatsume & Maki Houjou!

It has the older and younger (18+) woman theme that people seem to like.

Ever since i’ve added it, it’s always been a best seller!

On the 21st and 22nd I added a total of 128 DVDs to the site. As always, nearly every single one is a VERY recent release!

I also added thumbnail previews for most of them.

In addition to that I also made a December 2024 covers zip archive for you of full size JPG covers.

It lets advanced and/or desktop users view all the big covers with your own image viewer.

December is a very very rough month for us, so any orders big or small are VERY appreciated!

It will allow us to continue adding DVDs for everyone.

I even added a new free shipping offer. Now any USA order over $90 gets free Priority Mail.

Normally for me it’s $10-$11 the last I checked.

You might be wonder why there might not be tons of titles in your favorite genre in some monthly updates.

It’s most likely because there just isn’t that many New releases in that genre in Japan that month.

It seems like they produce less and less Lesbian titles in Japan these days.

I really do my best to add as much variety as possible, NOT just the ones that look great to me ONLY (but it’s tempting!).

I also took more steps to make the site as fast as possible!

We get a Google pagespeed score of 99/100 for mobile!

It’s all due to our caching software, Nginx and other tricks to speed things up.

Sometimes we even get a TTFB (time to first byte) of as low as 90ms. That’s pretty impressive IMO for a WordPress based E-commerce site.

As you may know, I am a computer “nerd” and manage our own Linux web server. I’ve done that since 2002!

This has been the best month on record for us in the past year! It’s so hard to believe!
Especially considering that some months recently we were in a fight for the site’s survival.
I was within 2 or 3 days on several occasions of having to take a part time job to keep the site going.
As you may know, this is the most time consuming job i’ve EVER had.
So taking a part time job was not something I could do.

My entire life is dedicated to this site and that’s all I do. Eat, sleep, work! I’m sure many others feel the same way. My goal though is to eventully just work 9-5. Some day it will happen, but not likely.

A few have given up on the site and that’s understandable, but most have stuck with us through all the hard times.

Over the past year i’ve tried coming up with ways to get orders out at lightning speed. None of them have worked despite trying my best. I have now come up with a new one that I am almost certain will work once and for all!!

I had to face reality. As the only employee, I was just not capable of offering 20,000 DVDs. I did some research and only like 20% of our entire 20K collection has sold at least once. I also remember that when I had half as many DVDs I rarely had any delays in shipping DVDs. I even had some free time after work!

Some won’t like this, but I have a new rule in place. Any DVD that doesn’t sell at least one copy in a full year will be removed. There are probably some that never sold in 5+ years! You may now notice out catalog is way smaller.

I also realized that one type of DVD that probably doesn’t sell well are the old “square box” format DVDs they had when the DVD format was new. Back then any still had 4X3 format only DVDs. Widescreen in DVDs wasn’t all that common at first! It’s hard to believe.
Of course this is my only idea.

As much as i’d love to be an Archive site for old videos, it’s just no longer possible as one employee.

So right now my goal is to spent 95% of my time on order processing. If you’ve got an open order, please do not worry. You’ll 1000% get it guaranteed. Any updates will be done will I multi-task!

My plan is to do marathon order processing sessions! As many hours in the day as I can without getting burned out. Goal is 12-16.

This might be hard to believe, but most of the time spent in order process is on finding discs! This is because of having over 20,000 of them!

Every few weeks, order processing will slowly get faster and faster!

BTW this will be the first full year with our new site and Ecommerce software! If you recall, I had to start the site over from scratch mostly in November of 2023. This is because my old shopping card provider had issues with their shopping cart and refused to fix it!

I had to learn how to use a CMS (Content Management System) and the new software. I learned it all from Youtube videos! At first I had to google how to do every little thing, but now it’s so easy! The Ecommerce software i’m using now I really love!

I also started using a new caching software in November too that made the site super fast! It’s called Flying Press and is pretty great! It’s one that I am 100% certain will never interfere with the check-out page etc.

With this setup we get a Google Pagespeed score of 99/100 for Mobile! It didn’t even require a lot of work.

As if you couldn’t tell, I love what I do and also what I sell!

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I realized this job is probably one of the things i’m most grateful for. I never want to ever take it for granted!
Starting in January we will be on year 23 of being in business! I still remember the days of selling VHS/Video Tapes only. Some of you may have never used those before! I don’t miss them at all.

This is sort of a small test since the digital downloads haven’t been popular..like at all, YET!

It’s FWAY-009 starring Momoka Kagura.

Big breast titles were not really on my radar until earlier this year.

I had seen some old Yulia Nova nude videos and really loved them!

That started my interest in them.

Then I got FWAY-009 and absolutely loved it! I’ve watched it over and over.

Then I discovered I loved K-cup plus Gravure idol movies.

Those are incredibly hard to find! At least the ones I want!

I think it’s because they’re all non-nude and that doesn’t appeal to some.

I personally find them even hotter than the ones with nudity or sex!

I don’t normally like to keep it up as an archive, but i’ve made the old site available again for informational purposes.

There are a TON of picture previews for titles found on that site that haven’t been added to the current site.

The old site only has DVDs that were added/released before November 2023.

It also has ALL the missing actress info that wasn’t added to the new site.

EVERYTHING on the old site can be purchased on the new site.

When searching try typing out the catalog number without the dash first. Try “DDM004” and then “DDM-004”.

I imported all the DVDs to the new database based on DVD cover file names!

It saved me from manually typing out 15-20k products!

The old site used HTML5 and CSS. There was no database I could just import to get all the actress names etc.

If you recall, the old site was perfectly fine except that my old shopping cart provider’s shopping cart stopped working properly.

I practically begged for them to fix it but they refused and claimed it was fine.

I basically had to start a new site over from scratch!

Plus the hardest part is I had absolutely NO CLUE how to use WordPress or any newer Ecommerce software.

I learned it all by Youtube videos!

I’ve had a bit of nostalgia today of running the site for so many years.

I started back in 2002 with a single page selling bukkake videos.

Due to my interest in that content, the site just kept growing and growing.

I slowly invested in it and upgraded all it’s equipment.

It’s hard to believe, but now we have 20,000 DVDs available!

I’ve been a bit discouraged lately. Physical Media isn’t as popular as it once was.

It’s not dead. Like me, there are still a TON of people who love and PREFER physical media!

I just don’t think it’s possible to keep the site going for another 5 years without offering some sort of digital downloads.

 

On September 21st 2024 I added about 120 new releases to the September 2024 updates page.

Hopefully there is something for everyone. I can’t wait to watch a few of them myself.

You may have noticed the site was down for 5-6 hours yesterday.

A bad plugin corrupted a configuration file! It took me forever to fix it!

What a headache. I’m just glad that I didn’t have to restore anything from backups.

Running this site has now become a major challege, but i’m working as hard as I can! 12-14 hours daily and 7 days a week!

Please consider placing a order if at all possible. Large or small is greatly appreciated and will help us to keep adding new movies for everyone!

Should be online within the next day. These are mostly for very old titles that link to a gallery in their product description. You may have noticed a few of them giving a “404” error. These are the ones returning.

The url usually has /old-site/gallery/ in it.

I’ve had those all offline for a few months. It’s because they took up nearly 70gb of space and the new server didn’t have that much storage. Hard to believe that 70gb went to just html and JPG files!

Plus many of them are severely bloated for picture previews. I made the mistake of having them use a single html page for EVERY full size image. Not a good idea! Many were made back in 2004 and are not mobile friendly at all (a requirement these days).

I might also put up the old site as an informational site again. It’s still a good reference I think.

I know that a lot of JAV collectors may want to see old reviews, previews and actress info.

I never was able to copy all the old information to the new site. It would have taken 6-12 months and doing that for hours daily is not something I could manage. There are no automated tools for doing that since I used plain HTML and the old site didn’t have a database.

I’m still amazing how I previously did every update by hand on the old site using HTML! It was so time consuming! Now I just add it all to a CSV file and import it all.

PS the old site closed in November of 2023. Only because my OLD shopping cart provider would not fix their broken cart. I was a subscriber of their service for 15+ years too.

Today while processing orders I managed to add 93 new DVD releases to the site!

Previously I added around 84 on the 5th of September.

Lots of variety this time as usual. I think I might start offering slightly less mature woman titles. Those just don’t sell as well for whatever reason. I do love a lot of them though, especially the ones with Mako Oda.

My general rule though is to add as many new Lesbian titles as I possibly can! In this update I added a few new Bibian (BBAN-) titles along with a huge compilation in the BBSS- series. As you many know, Lesbian movies that start with BBSS- are nearly always compilation and 4+ hours long (2 discs).

These days I am rarely “WOWed” with any new movies. It’s probably because I’ve seen so many. The one i’ve been loving is a VERY softcore title with Momoka Kagura. I’m not usually into big breast movies, but I absolutely love FWAY-009 with her!

I’m trying to find her other recent softcore movie MBRBN-052, but it seems impossible to track down!

Would be amazing to see a Ai Kano softcore movie from the Fair Way studio too.

Some find softcore movies boring, but I absolutely love them. Sometimes I find them hotter than some of the hardcore stuff.  Softcore content in specific genres is pretty hard to find though. Usually it’s just posing etc.

 

Lots of high quality DVDs were added in August 2024 so far. About 443 so far and most of them came out within the past week in Japan!

I also realize too that I haven’t done a good enough job of adding thumbnail previews for DVDs in the past few months.

They’re now available for EVERY DVD added in August! I hope this helps make it easier to decide what to buy or skip.

I know the previews are a bit too massive for cell phone users, but you can always shrink them if needed.

I also added a way to see all the full size DVD covers all on one page. No need to click dozens of titles.

I generally don’t prioritize adding more DVDs for a specific genre. It usually just goes by what looks good or what I think some may like. Often i’ve picked new additions based on what looks good to ME and that’s not such a good idea! I’m up for whatever people like, even if I have zero interest in it. I’ve even added genres like BBW and “Submissive Men” etc. I’d like to add a category for the “Female Investigator” movies.

One genre that does quite poorly is the Mature Woman category. I don’t know why and sometimes i’m tempted to stop updating that area. I love those titles though and that’s all that matters to me. I think one problem is that many who are into that genre prefer them to be even slightly MORE older. Like 50-60. Not sure on that.

You’ll notice that some months there are few new titles in the Lesbian genre. This is mainly because they release so few in Japan these days. I don’t know why this is! Same goes for the bukkake & gokkun genres.

Today is August 19th and I have only one thing to do. That is just do a marathon order processing session. For as long as I can!

I feel like i’ve been given a second chance on the site and don’t want to waste that. I’m working as hard as I possibly can.

It’s weird because on July 20th I had a massive surge of sales/traffic for a full 1 1/2 weeks. It was so nice. I thought the sales increase was due to a technical error I fixed, but now i’m thinking that had nothing to do with it and it was just a coincidence.

The sales boost felt like a miracle because it was right after I had applied for some part time work. So now I can work for only the site full time without needing extra income from an outside job.

Sales are slow again, but I am super motivated and am working hard. Things will be OK.

I also decided to give page caching another chance on the site. This time there is NO chance it will interfere with the shopping cart etc.

Now i’m doing using a software that does full page caching and instead of a 200-300ms TTFB (time to first byte), we are down to 40-50ms sometimes!! That’s by far the best i’ve ever seen. Pages will load super fast now for most people!

You may notice that when browsing pages when logged in, the address bar will display weird characters at the end of the url.

This is normal! It’s a way for our software to bypass the cache for logged in users.

It will display “?swcfpc=1” usually. Totally normal! They call it a “cache buster”!

We can’t cache logged in user content since it’s too personalized and would cause problems.

Page caching basically just speeds up pages for visitors, but it can be tough to get it working right without causing shopping cart issues.

PS Not going to lie. Keeping a site up that offers only physical media is getting to be a real challenge! That is OK!

Sorry if you had visited yesterday and saw a bunch of weird errors on the site. It was down for a few hours.

An automated backup tool ate up all the hard drive space on the server and in the process corrupted the main WordPress config file!

It made it 0 bytes and luckily I had a backup of this. Took me a long time to get things working again.

The worst part of all is my payment gateway plugin was deactivated on accident.

So the entire time I was asleep the site wasn’t accepting payments. Not good, especially after I did a pretty great update.

It’s FIXED and we are back at 100%!
